🧬Gene🧬 @GenomesDAO Alpha- ▪️I bought a bunch of $Gene today. I don't care if it's up a bit on the day; if it goes down, I'm buying more. The potential is undeniable. ▪️ One of the primary issues I considered when moving from psychiatry to full-time crypto was the issues I had with prescribing medications. I had problems with the lack of efficacy, amount of treatment resistance, and overwhelming side effects that the psychotropic drugs caused. This was primarily frustrating in primary care, so I typically focused on emergency room/crisis psychiatry, where the medications are generally needed for drug-induced psychosis, schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar disorder, and suicide attempts. The emergency setting is where psychotropics have the best use case right now, IMO. ▪️ This is relevant to @GenomesDAO because their data can/will be used for Pharmacogenetics/Pharmacogenomics research(see photo below). Essentially, they can retrieve information on individual genetic makeup that can help decipher what drugs will work best and have the least amount of side effects in people. It would drastically improve efficacy and reduce side effects if proven successful and adopted. ▪️ Globally, we would be talking about significant money pouring into the sector as trillions of dollars in resources would be freed up due to improved outcomes and the drastic reduction in the time it takes to treat someone effectively. ▪️ The other important part is that $GENE allows people to own their DNA in encrypted vaults. They choose what research they want to participate in and who can access it. One day, someone may be able to walk into my office and permit me to access their DNA data. With this, I would be able to treat individuals more effectively, with lower costs, and see quicker results, resulting in a happier patient. Now, that's the kind of psychiatry I'd love to practice. Through companies like $Gene, this can be made possible. I'm not missing the boat on this first mover with purpose and actual use case on the blockchain. Extra Nuggets: 1. Their applications aren't limited to Pharmacogenetics/Pharmacogenomics either. It's also used for ancestry, carrier status, and health risks. 2. Genotyping used by other services reads 0.002% of your genome. Exome sequencing reads 1.5% of your genome. Whole genome sequencing reads all 3 billion base pairs. Genomes offers Whole Genome Sequencing. 3. They are the only genomic sequencing company to harness secure encrypted virtualization - encrypted state (SEV-ES) technology to create fully encrypted ‘vaults’ for user DNA data. This provides secure cloud storage of DNA data owned and controlled by the user.
